Search Engine giants, Google have decided to become a little generous in light of its recent financial reports which seem to show its best in many years.
Surprisingly, Google have gone into their back pockets and brought out $2 million to give. This may be a huge sum of money to us, but to them it is obviously ‘monopoly money.’ The $2 million has actually been donated to the Wikimedia Foundation which is the ‘non profitable’ organisation that runs the content on Wikipedia, which we all will agree has given us a great information source, though sometimes the info can be a bit wrong.
The news of the donation was actually found on Twitter, the micro-blogging site whereby Jimmy Wales, the co-founder of Wikipedia, tweeted saying :
“Google has donated $2 million to the Wikimedia Foundation! Formal announcement tomorrow…..
